Odoo Companion does not operate any server of its own and does not collect, store, or transmit your data to the developer or any third party.

When you configure the extension, your Odoo server URL, database name, username, and password or API key are stored only in your browser's local extension storage (browser.storage.local). This data is never sent anywhere except directly to the Odoo server you configure — there is no Odoo Companion backend, analytics service, or third-party server in the middle.

The extension reads and displays data from your own Odoo account using your own Odoo user's permissions (notifications, attendance, sales, CRM, projects, timesheets, etc.) — it can never see more than your Odoo user could already see by logging into Odoo directly. Notification and task-timer history is likewise stored only in local browser storage.

We recommend using an Odoo API key instead of your real password, since it can be revoked independently at any time. This local storage is not encrypted at rest — avoid using the extension on a shared or public computer.
