- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13594626, a month agoI love the service, but the extension is incredibly unreliable. Any time I try to set up a new connection, the entire browser locks up for tens of seconds. The connection drops off occasionally, to which the only fix is to disable then enable the extension, then wait for the browser to be responsive again.

posted a month agoThat doesn’t sound right. Are you receiving any error messages? What type of internet connection are you using? Are you using any other extensions for privacy/security purposes? Do you have any antivirus or firewall app installed? Contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact so we can help you troubleshoot. Meanwhile, try reinstalling the extension to see if there's any improvement. - Rated 5 out of 5by Mike H, a month ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15314185, a month agoThere is a glut of VPN providers out there, including Firefox's own. I have had nothing but success with Proton's VPN service. Is it better than the others? I have no idea. The UI can be a little overbearing, especially on the mobile app, but its core functionality is solid.

- Rated 5 out of 5by FlaccidFacade, a month agoGreat features. Sometimes the UI can be unstable and it lacks features that you get from standalone vpn application but I do like that it only really needs to be on top of my web browsing rather than all my traffic. I'd like to see profiles added to the extension as maybe an easy feature that the extension is lacking.

posted a month agoThe default Connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. That said, you still have the option to switch to another randomly allocated server by disconnecting and reconnecting, or you can upgrade to connect to a specific server in a country of your choice.
As for the issue you're experiencing, could you share more details? Where exactly have you observed the leak? Are you using any other VPN, proxy, or custom DNS services? Are you using any firewall or antivirus? Contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact so we can help you troubleshoot. - Rated 1 out of 5by MrMcSavvy, a month agoExtension completely bricks FireFox. Fails to connect and remains stuck at which time, all functionality of the browser has stopped. Cannot open settings, cannot click the extension icon, nothing. Assumed it may have been the core secure function causing the hang up, so I did a refresh on FireFox. Reinstalled the extension and same issue happened. Had to do another refresh of FireFox.

posted a month agoSorry to hear that. Please contact us at https://protonvpn.com/support/contact letting us know which specific Firefox version and Proton VPN extension version you have installed, what OS your device is running, whether you have the auto-connect option enabled, etc. We'd be happy to investigate the issue further. - Rated 5 out of 5by playwithworst, a month ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by normalized, a month agoThe extension itself is super snappy and responsive, but the fact that I have to disable and re-enable it on every PC restart is driving me crazy. Otherwise it refuses to work, either saying that the destination is unreachable or showing that it is connected when it clearly is not.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 19640629, a month agoWhere do I submit bugs? After every time my laptop hibernates or sleeps, I have to uninstall and reinstall for the connection to work again. Or wait a very long time. I use this extension, because the official Linux package apparently requires systemd and fails.

- Rated 4 out of 5by AwakeningLight, a month agoThe add-on is quite useful, but the integration (as already stated in another comments) with the desktop (Windows and Linux) app is lacking. The default auto-connect server selection would also come in handy, as it's done in desktop app.
