by oldrup, 2 years agoTruly impressed by how good the sites I use now looks after dark. Being a web developer, I can assure you that creating a nice looking dark theme is no easy task. That dark reader is able to fix websites which were designed for light mode only, is very impressive. I tweaked the brightness and sepia settings to my preferences. You should take some time to do that too. And if you appreciate the extension, consider supporting the developers. It's optional but encouraging. Five stars!

last update broke something - it slows down the browser and firefox asks if i want to stop this extension - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13848868, 8 days agoI've been using Dark Reader for years, but now it slows down and even hangs my browser. When I use Firefox Settings to set backgrounds to black, I lose highlighting effects. Absence of a working dark mode could cause me to abandon Firefox. :-(

- Rated 4 out of 5by Alphonse, 9 days agoEfficiently renders webpages as dark by altering elements directly (by default). Very effective at eliminating bright backgrounds no matter the source. Interface is a bit clunky with four subpages to sift through, and verbiage a bit confusing. Can rarely unintentionally hide elements from sight, so double-check a page with it disabled in case anything is missing.
