by Firefox user 13586645, 2 years agoThis addon has always been one of the best video downloaders - being stuck with a very slow broadband connection I often had no choice than to download stuff as it simply wouldn't play otherwise.
I now have a fast fibre connection but the convenience of downloading videos, to skip ads, popups and all is still great.
And 99 times out of 100, this add-on simply works. The new, revised UI has simplified things a little but I'm sure the myriad of options are still there. I simply haven't needed to delve too deeply, which is ideal.
The devs are conscientious and try their best in what must be a very difficult market. I'd advise to pay their small fee - it unlocks lots of great features, has worked across multiple computers, OS's, devices etc., is very reasonable, and - most importantly - funds the continuous development of the program in an area that you need to keep on top of the various ways content providers try to subvert programs like this.
I can't recommend VDH highly enough, and I've just downloaded my 100th video on the current version, it asked me to leave a review, so here it is.

- Rated 5 out of 5by DDMORE, 3 hours agoUseful for most videos and fairly easy to use. Creator generally keeps the extension updated and that can be challenging with YouTube regularly changing formats, algorithms and codecs among other things.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Jereth, 6 hours agoSuddenly this plugin only let's you download a couple of videos unless you pay them for premium. Super glad the app can be reverse engineered and I can make my own free one. Thanks to the dev for that. F you though for adding the paywall in the update. I look forward to my free version outpacing yours in the next year.
