1. Overview

Video Saver Helper respects user privacy. This policy explains what information the Firefox add-on, related membership features, and the local Windows helper use, and for what purposes.

1. Information We Collect or Use

This add-on may collect or use the following information:

• Email address: Used for account registration, login, membership management, support requests, and account-related communication.
• Authentication information: Used to maintain login status and verify membership status.
• Payment-related information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. The add-on does not store credit card numbers.
• Service usage information: Used to manage membership status, save-count limits, support requests, and basic operational status.
• Website content on the current page: Used only when the user opens the add-on popup or clicks “Check This Page” to detect save candidates on the active page.
• Information We Do Not Collect

This add-on does not collect:

• Browsing history as a continuous log
• Bookmarks
• Passwords
• Credit card numbers
• The contents of downloaded video files
• Messages or private communications from video services
• Purpose of Use

Collected or used information is used only for:

• Login and account management
• Membership and subscription management
• Checking save eligibility and service limits
• Detecting save candidates on user-selected video pages
• Providing support and investigating user-submitted issues
• Operating and improving the service
• Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell user data. We use the following service providers only as necessary to operate the service:

• AWS / Amazon Web Services: authentication, account management, API hosting, and server infrastructure
• Stripe: payment processing and subscription management
• GitHub: distribution of the local helper installer
• Local Helper

Video Saver Helper may communicate with a locally installed Windows helper application named VideoLatch Helper. The helper runs on the user's PC and performs local save processing when the user starts a save operation. Data sent to the helper is used only for that save operation and local communication.

1. Data Retention

Authentication data stored in the browser remains until the user logs out, removes the add-on, or clears browser storage. Server-side account and membership data is retained as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain operational records. Support request records may be retained for up to one year after the last response unless a longer retention period is required by law or operational necessity.

1. Data Deletion

Users may request account deletion or data deletion through the membership/support form or by contacting the operator. Local authentication data can also be removed by logging out, removing the add-on, or clearing browser storage.

1. Permissions

The add-on requests permissions needed to check the active page, detect save candidates, communicate with the local helper, and manage download operations. The add-on checks pages only after user action and does not continuously analyze normal browsing.
